| Weighing up the pros and cons of fitting a Multivar 2000 Variator (M5112769) to my Fuoco at the next scheduled service. What is the best belt for this as I see Malossi do have an offering (M6112856) or is it best to stick with a genuine piaggio item. Also are these parts just a simple bolt on exercise or do they require any specialist knowledge to work correctly. I have been told that when Readspeed fit the Multivar they reprofile the ramps on the torque driver? Price is not as important as performace but like everybody I don't want to waste money. I used the bike for general round town, country lane and long rally use normally 2-up.

| I had a good experience with the Multivar 2000 on my old Burgman, but as per earlier post I'd certainly now be looking at the J Costa instead.

I've heard it said that the Malossi 'kevlar reinforced' belts are a waste of time, since the reinforcement reinforces bits that don't wear, rather than those that do.
There, thats a technical explanation for you!

| Right, so can you use a genuine belt with a Malossi Multivar 2000 and if so are there any gains?

Genuine is fine with a Malossi.
I once went all Malossi with my old Speedfight 100,inc their belt. After a day I took the belt out and threw it away and fitted a genuine Peugeot one.It was that bad.

| I have a Malossi Multivar on my Italjet with a POLINI belt as recommended by PSN scooters.
