A bunch of us met up in Vauxhall last year for lunch and a nose at other people's machines: http://maxiscoots.forumwise.com/maxiscoots-thread3890.html . So, what about doing it again?

UPDATED MEET DETAILS

When? Thursday 21 August.

Time? I shall be there from around 6pm, but see below.

Where? The Hispaniola WC2N 5DJ. http://www.hispaniola.co.uk/
Link to Yell page with map Click on "local information" and you can display bike bays.

Stay 15minutes for a drink and to say hello, or stay the whole evening. The bar is in fact a boat moored alongside Victoria Embankment at the bottom of Northumberland Avenue. Obviously nice views up and down the river are a given.

Embankment tube station is on the east/north side of the junction, a large m/c bay is to the west/south of it on the Embankment itself. It has a bar on deck, and if anyone wants to stay for dinner, a restaurant too.

If the Hispaniola is full, or turns out to be rubbish, we can de-camp to the boat next door, the Tattershall Castle.

Be aware: the m/c bay is in Westminster, and anyone who did not register in time to get free parking for August will have to pay the £1.50 to park if you arrive before 6.30pm (so I am informed). I have read elsewhere that wardens may not be issuing tickets yet, but the risk is yours and I ain't paying your fine if you get done!

Drop me a PM if you want my mobile number in case you get lost!

Unless we do it soon it looks like Westminster will be out - I can't think of much better than Vauxhall again unless someone knows of loads of empy free parkign bays.

Don't shoot me down for this (save that for your anti-government rants!) but how about a supermarket cafe? We can stick 4 bikes in each single bay we can find, and the food is usually cheap.

Yell.com says there is a Sainsburys not far off the south side of Vauxhall Bridge at 62, Wandsworth Rd, London, SW8 2LF. Anyone know it?

EDIT: 450 parking spaces, 4 ATM, and restaurant, apparently.
http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shoppingandservices/storelocator/store.htm?id=225

Date: How about the week of 18 August? I see Mobileadam recently posted that he is in town on Mon & Thurs most weeks, so to cater for that should he want to join in, how about Thursday 21 August?

ah so the plan is to meet on a working day... cool, that's fine for me. Only 2.7 miles from work. Cool

We'll need one hell of a speedy service in the restaurant if we want to eat anything in 1 hour though. How about getting the menu beforehand and ordering before we go there? That way we can guarantee food on time plus places to sit...

I can go and check the restaurant out if needed.

PM me your boss' address and I will write to him and tell him the government needs your assistance for 2 hours that day. I'll give the postal address for any queries as PO Box 1300, London SE1 1BD. (look it up...)

Cool

Do you want to propose another date? The following week is already out, but otherwise?
