Yeah scooters are starting to take off here in the States. We are still in the dark ages compared to you chaps, though-- especially when it comes to Maxi's. Bikers shun them and smaller scooter owners are confused by them.

I had an 04 Silverwing and sold it a few years back with the intention of moving up to a Goldwing. But never did ( thankfully). I never felt comfortable with the biker community, even the GW crowd here. Scooterists are my people!

I drive a Mini Cooper S JCW and found Mini owners to be much like scooterists on line -- darned interesting people you want to get to know.

With gas topping $4 US here (and looking like it's here to stay) we are finally getting the message to sell the Hummer and get a scooter Very Happy

I was on the verge of plopping down the cash on a 650 Burgy when Yamaha made the announcement of the TMax in the US. My heart went pitter-patter!!

Burgy's are nice. But I have had lust for the TMax ever since I've spotted them while lurking on European sites. The US versions include a Cadmium Yellow with blacked out details. Bike to come in weeks, can't wait.

For now I'll just watch the sites and enjoy the chit-chat.

Oh, re: Kalamazoo
I'm midway between Detroit and Chicago.
We have a T-shirt here that proudly states:
"Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo." Very Happy

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Best
J

1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.78 liter approx

1.05 USD per litre= 0.53 GBP per litre

So about 53p per litre

They're moaning at paying 53p a litre while we pay 115p per litre? Laughing
When I passed my driving test in 1993 petrol was around 56p a litre and that was 15 years ago.
