Suzuki UK have agreed to replace the clutch in my 07 Burgman with the clutch from the 08.
Has anyone else hear had this done and if so,what are the noticable differences I.e once bedded in what rev range are you getting too before clutch engage and any vibrations?

I have heard certain scoots have been affected with the clutches.
Have a look on BurgmanUSA at all the posts if you have a week to spare.....

What mileage had you reached and what was the problem? At just under 2000 miles, mine engages at about 3000rpm and there's vibration till about 4000 - normal?

On certain Frame Numbers there has been a problem with the Clutches making a Squealing noise when pulling away.
I think they used the wrong Clutch Lining material and it causes the clutch to overheat.
The cure is to replace the complete clutch with with the modified 08 version.
It should all be done under warranty if it is required.

I had a new clutch fitted at about 4300 miles, as the original clutch burnt out and blued the bell. The clutch was replaced with a newer version of the three shoe plate and a new bell. Because of all the crap that was under the rollers etc, then they were also replaced along with the belt. However, since then and now, with 6500 miles on the clock the new clutch is vibrating and also I have to put 4000 rpm at least on it to pull away which at times is like the clutch on an F1 car. The clutch suddenly engages and the bike takes off. I contacted S uk and they immediately offered to replace it with the 08 clutch. Excellent, apart from the fact that the nearest S dealer is 54 miles away and the dealer that I bought from is 60 miles away. I am curently waiting to hear if that dealer will guarantee to do the job within the day, as the last thing I want is a 120 mile round trip to drop off the scoot and then whenever, another 120 mile round trip to collect it. Not only that but the dealer says that they do not have a suitable machine, ie automatic to give me as a courtesy vehicle. I use my scoot every day for commuting to and from work and its my only form of transport. The last time it went in forthe clutch I was a month without it.
I believe that the dealer wants the scoot left with them so that they can get to it when it is conenient to them hoever in my case that is a luxury that I cannot afford. Watch this space.

Yes - I've read the reams of complaint and debate in the US, but hadn't heard of probs this side of the pond. Suzuki seems to give crap support and service, wherever - my local dealer is also rubbish and I'm living on the edge of chucking the warranty and going for DIY.

I would'nt.
A replacement Clutch etc is not a cheap item Sad
Sorry about your dealer Sad I would definitely be pushing to get it fixed.
Have you wrote a Letter to Suzuki UK complaining?

A lot of 400 K7 Owners in the States have replaced the clutch with Aftermarket parts with very good results Very Happy

Not clutch related, but Suzuki, there warranty IS poor, the Burger is a great machine but spoilt by the manufacturers failure to respond to customer problems.

That would be my way to cut it - currently considering a combo of J. Costa variator and Malossi Maxi-Fly clutch. Just have to decide if I like the Burgman enough to keep it despite the Suzuki smell.
