Peugeot make their own range of engines but only currently up to 125 compressor. They bought in Piaggio lumps when the deal to get Honda engines for the Sat/Geo pair fell through. The ABI still lists the Satelis as having 125 and 600cc engines, which complicates the business of getting insurance for the 250cc even now 
Peugeot pretty much bailed out Piaggio by buying their engines as Piaggio nearly went bust a couple of years ago._________________

| A couple of years ago was actually 6 yrs ago, Well before Peugeot needed their engines.. The cash injection that re launched Piaggio came from the now Chairman a Merchant banker named Roberto Colaninno, He then went on to float piaggio on the stock market in July 2006. raising an instant 274 Million, I wish I had his job,.......
