...and then some. Confused

Just been roughing out the route as a circular from Dunmow to Sheringham and back, and it's weighing in at a shade over 210 miles. It's a whopper for sure, but there's some nice roads in there. The return leg should be a bit quicker as it will mostly be using the A140.

Route so far:

Great Dunmow - Haverhill - Bury St Edmunds - Thetford - Dereham - Holt - Sheringham - Norwich - Stowmarket - Sudbury - Braintree - Great Dunmow.

I'm not going to get all anal about insisting people do the whole thing if they don't want. I'll try and work out some sort of itinerary together with possible meeting points if people want to just tag along for a bit.

Better have some petrol stations on the way and some places to stop and a good place for lunch.

Yup my scooter doesn't seem to do that many miles to a tank... so I'd need to fill up at least twice if I did the whole route.

I think I'll decide nearer the time (and after Mottz's rideout) whether I'm up to going, if the weathers nice I might even take the Honda which does around 150 miles to a tank... though I know that the buzz on the right handlebar makes my hand numb after about 100 miles - probably needs some bar ends to counteract that but none are fitted and I'm loathe to mess with it.

Sounds good, may join you at Haverhill or Bury.
Wouldn't do the return trip though, I'd head back through Hunstanton, Kings Lynn and March or Ely.
My bike would do it on a tankfull. Very Happy

Date (subject to confirmation) will be Sunday 29 June. It will need to be an early start because of the length of the ride, so am thinking about an 8:30 meet for a 9:00 departure.

Will post more as I plan it.

I'd like to have tried this run, but it's the day after I return from Greece and I'll probably be too knackered to get up that early in the morning and ride 300 miles... Sad

I might and it's only a might join up on part of it, but it's a bloody long way there and back I'll work out the closest points to me.
